In the frame of the activities programmed during the Year of the Computing in the UAB, the next Thursday 22 May a lecture will take place about quantic Computing: challenges and prospects to charge of Ignacio Cirac, director of the theoretical division of the High School Max Planck of Quantic Optics of Múnic.
He will set forth how the most mysterious and abstract aspects of the quantic physics can be based on by the systems computer and of communication of the future, an uncovered theory makes it more than one century allow us to portray and to understand the microscopic world. This theory, that it caused paradoxes like the cat of Schödinger or famous sentences how "God does not play dies" of Einstein, it allows to use extraordinary phenomena for transmitting and to process information in a way safer and effective.

Search to RESEARCHED: Nets apart wide
On the 1 and 2 of May, the Service of Computer Science UAB uses the bridge to make a performance important in its electrical net. This means that during these days there will not be any application that depends on this service disposable: institutional web sites (included the web pages of the schools and of the Service of Libraries), service VPN, catalog of the libraries, connection from the campus of Bellaterra nor with this campus, institutional directory, electronic mail, etc.
You, the members of the university community of Sabadell, if you come to your campus on Friday the 2nd, will be able to work in the classrooms of computer science and be able to use the net without threads because you will have connection. You will be able also to work as the campus of Sabadell with the local applications.
The BUS will be opened in normal schedule during every Friday, 2 May. It is expected that in the course of the afternoon all services keep on being retrieved. In the meantime, the room will allow the study, the staff will attempt to help you in the location of the works and the loan will be made manually.
This blog will continue in functioning because it is found external in a platform. Also you can be profitable to opening an account to Refworks, have un cop d'ull and ask for help if you think that it is convenient to you 
The libraries of the UAB we are immersed in a process of change of the computer system that manages the catalog. This means that it is necessary to migrate all the datum of the documents (books, magazines, Cds, etc) of our collections (+1 M) and also the datum of our users (50.000 aprox.). Equally it is necessary to migrate the information of the transactions of the loan.
Already some months ago that all the equipment of the Service of Libraries we are working to try to make the migration so fast and as accurate as it is possible, parametritzant the new system, cleaning the old data base of inconsistencies and making evidence of burden. And now place is brought over the decisive moment that it will have between the 4th and the 9th June.
In the meantime we have a calendar of performances that they affect to the users of the loan directly and that they confine in this way:
From the 28th April: the date of return of the documents is on the 25th from June.
From 1st May and until the 9th June: bookings can not be made.
From the 22nd May and until the 3rd June: the number of documents is broadened in loan:
Of the 4th in the 9th June: the loan to all effects is closed.
How you see the process will cause you unavoidably a series of troubles for which we ask you for apologies and understanding. We expect that the improvements that the new system will incorporate can offset you somehow.
